Ouch! Joni Mitchell on Bob Dylan

In 2010, Joni Mitchell did an interview with the L.A. Times in which she said Bob Dylan is "not authentic at all. He's a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception." But now, in an interview with CBC Music, she tried to clarify and soften her remarks, saying, “I did not say he’s not authentic at all. That’s journalistic BS… I like a lot of Bob songs, but musically he’s not very gifted. He has borrowed his voice from old hillbillies. He’s got a lot of borrowed things. He is not a great guitar player. He has invented a character to deliver his songs. You can do things with that character."

She also said that Matt Diehl, the journalist she did that 2010 interview with, "was an ass… [His] IQ is somewhere between his shoe size and his knees… I hate doing interviews with stupid people and this guy’s a moron." In this latest interview, Joni also talked about being ill and how it has robbed her of her singing voice.
