Bruno Mars used his Super Bowl halftime performance to demonstrate his many talents to anyone who may not have been familiar with him.  He started the gig Sunday night on the drums before eventually making his way back to the stage and breaking into his hit "Locked Out of Heaven."

Mars then segued into soulful renditions of "Treasure" and "Runaway Baby."  All the while he kept the energy up with James Brown-like dance moves alongside his band, who all shined in matching gold jackets.

Special guests the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined in the fun at that point wearing much less in the chilly East Rutherford, New Jersey weather.  Frontman Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea bounced all over the stage shirtless while performing their '90s classic "Give It Away."

Bruno finally slowed things down a bit at the end for his ballad "Just the Way You Are," which started with dedications from members of the U.S. armed forces.

This halftime show was unforgettable. "USA Today" says the 12-minute performance generated 2.2 million tweets before it was over.
