Miley Cyrus has landed the first number one single of her career.

On Wednesday, "Wrecking Ball" became the singer's first-ever Billboard Hot 100 topper.  The song skyrocketed from number 22 to number one in a week, following the buzz surrounding its controversial video.

The video, which has Miley swinging on a wrecking ball in the nude, broke records on, drawing over 19 million views in its first 24 hours out.  "Wrecking Ball" sold 477,000 downloads in the past week, charging from number ten to one on the Digital Songs chart.  It blows far past Miley's previous sales record.  The last time she came close was during Christmas of 2009, when "Party In The USA" sold 285,000 downloads.

The 20-year-old has come close to a number one single in the past.  Both "We Can't Stop" and "Party In The USA" peaked at number two on the Hot 100.
